Sea level rise

One of the largest difficulties with sea level rise is the lack of fresh water we all need every day. 3 design students from Flinders Uni and I have been working on an RO unit to make fresh water – powered just by the tide. We envisage a partly flooded bouy moored in shallow water. Attached to the underside will be a cylinder holding  a piston on a rod with its foot on the sea floor. As the tide rises, brine is drawn into the cylinder through a non-return valve.
